Ashraf (ORCID:0002-4800-6060) is a Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Bradford, received his PhD from Cambridge University, MSc and BSc(Hons) from Mansoura University, Egypt, was the Head of Civil Engineering Department between 2007-2012 and the Director of Research at the School of Engineering between 2014-2018. Prof. Ashour has worked in many research projects sponsored by national and international research organizations; including British Council, Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Newton fund and EU Horizon 2020. He has extensive research experience in the development of new construction materials and their use in sustainable infrastructure as well as techniques to extend the life of concrete structures. He has successfully supervised 16 post-doctoral research fellows and 20 PhD students. He has authored and co-authored more than 250 journal and conference papers.
Born in Baghdad 1947. Obtained his BSc and MSc from Baghdad University in 1968 and 1972 respectively and PhD degree from Dundee University in Water Resources Engineering in 1976. Previously worked at Baghdad University 1976-1995 then at Al-Bayt University in Jordan (1995- 2007). Research interests are mainly in Geology, Water Resources and Environment. Served several academic administrative posts (Dean, Head of Department). Now,Professor at the department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Lulea Technical University Sweden. Research interests are mainly in Water Resources, Climate Change and Environment. Served several academic administrative posts (Dean, Head of Department). Publications include more than 900 articles in international/national journals, chapters in books and 22 books and special issues. Prof. PhD. Eng. Arch. Elzbieta D. Rynska isa member of the academic staff working at the Faculty of Architecture Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) for the past 35 years. Status of a professor since 2016. Currently Head of a Pro-environmental Design Team. Specialisation: sustainable architecture and urban planning, circular issues in building sector, environmental certification. BREEAM AP since 2012 and WELL AP since 2018. Also interested in economy and management issues within the building sector within the scope of sustainable development. Author of several books and international scientific papers. Cooperation within several international interdisciplinary grants financed by EU and Norwegian Financing Mechanism. 2012-2015 coordinator of co-author of a interdisciplinary teaching curricula concerning sustainable development. Co-organiser of international conferences dealing with climatic issues, in 2019 organiser of a circular design workshop for the students of Architecture sponsored by the Embassy of Denmark in Warsaw. Rui Neves got his PhD from the University of Lisbon in 2012. He has been a structural designer and researcher. Currently he is an Associate Professor at Polytechnic University of Setubal. He is author/co-author of 3 books and 3 book chapters, has published 40+ articles, including research papers, comments and discussions, in specialized journals and presented 35+ works at events. He is author/co-author of 20+ educational productions and 90 technical reports/memorandums. He his member of the editorial board of 10 international journals, guest editor of 3 special issues, was committee member on 6 conferences and reviewed 150+ manuscripts. In 2012 he was Medal honored with the Academic Merit attributed by Polytechnic Institute of Setubal. His main research interests are the durability of RC structures, recycled aggregate concrete, textile reinforced concrete and green concrete.
Dr. Michele Palermo is an associate professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Bologna, Italy. His MSc (2010) and PhD (2014) in Civil Engineering are from the University of Bologna. Between 2009-2010 he carried out an internship at the US firm Degenkolb Engineering (Los Angeles, California). In 2011 and 2014 he was visiting researcher at the University of Granada (Spain) and Berkeley (California), to investigate the seismic behavior of structures made of RC sandwich walls. His current research interests include seismic engineering (mainly viscous dampers and structural health monitoring of historical constructions and infrastructures) and use of automation and metal additive manufacturing (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing technology) in construction. He is a member of the European TG8 task group: Seismic Behaviour of irregular and complex structures, of the ASTM Committee F42 on Additive Manufacturing, and of the European COST action Circular B with a particular commitment to the sustainability of AM technologies in the Construction field.
Paulo Santos is currently Associate Professor in Dep. of Civil Eng. of University of Coimbra (PT). Integrated member of ISISE research center. The main actual scientific research fields are Thermal Behaviour , Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Sustainable Construction, with focus on Lightweight Steel Framed (LSF) construction system. Author of around 180 scientific publications. He has around 2,600 citations and 74,500 reads on Research Gate (Berlin), with an h-index of 25.Member of the Editorial Board of 17 international scientific journals. Supervisor of 53 master/doctoral theses. Participated in around 12 funded European and Portuguese research projects. He is a member of the international technical committee TC14/ECCS - "Sustainability & Eco-efficiency of Steel Construction".
Afshin ASADI, CMEngNZ, CPEng (NZ), FICE (UK), is a Fellow of ICE, Chartered Professional Engineer, and Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand. He's Research Director at Envo Geotechnique Ltd and Geotechnical Team Leader at Wilton Joubert Consulting Engineering in Auckland, New Zealand. He's an Advisory Board Member for Environmental Geotechnics by ICE and an Editorial Board Member for Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Civil Engineering. He's also a Council Producer Statement Author for Auckland Council in New Zealand. Afshin completed his B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, M.Sc. in Civil Engineering-Environmental Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering in 2010. He's an Advisory Committee member for PhD students at Auckland University of Technology and has a background in sustainable geotechnics. He previously held roles at the University Putra Malaysia and the International College of Auckland. Afshin is a co-author of the book "Geotechnics of Organic Soils and Peat" (2016) by Taylor & Francis (CRC Press) and an associate author of "Environmental Geotechnology Meeting Challenges Through Needs-based Instrumentation" (2022) by World Scientific. He was awarded the Australia-Awards Endeavour Fellowship for research at the University of Wollongong, Australia, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Invitation Fellowship (JSPS award) for research collaboration at Hokkaido University, and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions - Research Fellowship Programme (experienced category) in sustainable geotechnics.
Dr. Xing Zheng Wu is currently working as an associate professor in the civil engineering department of Hebei University in Baoding, China. His research interests focus on stability analysis of geostructures, numerical modelling of soil structure interaction, coastal cliff-beach erosion and hydraulic structures, flood risk mitigation measures, uncertainty quantification and reliability analysis in geotechnical and coastal engineering. Dr. Wu has published more than 20 journal papers by the first author in international journals, who is the Editor-in-Chief of the Insight - Civil Engineering. He has served as an active reviewer for more than 30 international journals and he is a member of the editorial board of more than 10 journals.
Hu Jianhui, born in Chengdu, Sichuan, Ph.D., JSPS FELLOW , Japan. He is aPermanent Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2021. During 2018-2020 worked in Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and as a Special Researcher at the University of Tokyo, Japan. And from 2017 to 2018 as a Foreign researcher at the Institute of Production Technology , University of Tokyo, Japan. 2015-2017 Postdoctoral fellow in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He completed his studies from 2005 to 2015 as an Undergraduate student at Chongqing University and PhD candidate at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

I graduated as a Civil Engineer in 2009 by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Immediately afterwards, I enrolled the doctoral program of the UPC in the Construction and Building Department, developing part of my research at the Delft University of Technology. In 2013 I graduated as doctor with mention cum laude and extraordinary prize for the best doctoral thesis. My thesis was awarded with the first position of the extraordinary prize of the UPC Doctoral Thesis of the year 2013. Due to the work done during my PhD, I was awarded in 2014 with a 2 years postdoc PDJ-grant to continue my research in the University and in 2016 with a Torres Quevedo-grant to carry out R&D work in a company. Since 2018 I am faculty member in the Project and Construction Engineering Department as Associate Professor and researcher at Group of Construction Research and Innovation, where I address frontier research topics which draw interest and enthusiasm in the scientific community and in the engineering and construction sector concerning: Smart Cities, Building and Infrastructures; Sustainable, Resilient and Circular Construction and Decision-making in the build environment. Since 2012 I have published 51 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, most of which in first quartile journals according to the JCR ranking and supervised 4 PhD thesis. I have published 1 book and 3 chapters of a book and I have presented 25 works in National or International Congresses. I have been member of the research group in 9 different R+D+I projects funded in competitive tenders either by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness or the Ministry of Science and Innovation . Additionally, in 2013 I participated in the foundation of the spin-off Smart Engineering within the UPC.

Dr. Tarig A Ali is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. He holds PhD and MS in Geo-information and Geodetic Engineering from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic engineering at the Ohio State University, USA. He was an Assistant professor at East Tennessee State University and the University of Central Florida, USA in 2003-2009 before joining the American University of Sharjah, UAE. Dr. Ali research interests are in the area of geospatial science and remote sensing with extensive experience in applied GIS, geoinformatics, spatial analytics, and remote sensing of the environment with 15+ years of research experience. Dr. Ali is the recipient of many awards including the Ohio State University's Duane C. Brown Jr. Award in 2003, the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association's Murrough O'Brien Education Award in 2004, the ETSU Faculty Excellence Award in 2005, and Esri Award for Best Scientific Paper in Geographic Information Systems in 2006.
