Prof. Edik U. Rafailov received the Ph.D. degree from Ioffe Institute, Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1992. In 1997, he moved to St. Andrews University, Scotland, UK and in 2005, he established a new group in Dundee University, Scotland, UK. In 2014, he and his Optoelectronics and Biomedical Photonics Group moved to Aston University, Birmingham, UK. He has authored and coauthored more than 500 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, including four books, over ten invited chapters and numerous plenary/invited talks. His current research interests include high-power CW and ultra-short pulsed lasers, generation of UV/visible/IR/MIR and THz radiation, nanostructures, nonlinear and integrated optics, and biomedical photonics. He coordinated the €14.7M FP7 FAST-DOT project development of new ultrafast lasers for biophotonics applications and the €12.5M NEWLED project which aims to develop a new generation of white LEDs. He also coordinated the H2020 FET projects: Mesa-Brain (aims to develop 3D nano-printing technology for functional three-dimensional human stem cell derived neural networks), and recently coordinate NEUROPA (aims to develop novel non-invasive brain theragnostic approaches), and PLATFORMA. He also leads a few other projects funded by EU FP7, H2020 and EPSRC. In 2014 he has been awarded the Lebedev Medal of the Russian Optical Society and in 2022 elected as a Fellow of Optica (former OSA).

Dr. Qing Yang is a professor in the College of Optical Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University. She is the director of Research Center for Humanoid Sensing in Zhejiang Lab during 2019-2023. Qing Yang received her Bachelor and PhD degree in College of Materials Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2001 and 2006, respectively.She was a visiting scholar at George Tech from 2009-2012. She was a visiting Scientist at University of Cambridge in 2018. Dr. Yang’s research focuses on micro-/nanophotonic devices, super-resolution imaging and multimodal endoscopy.Totally, Dr. Yang published 90 peer reviewed journal articlesand the publications have been cited by others more than 4300 times. She holds more than 40 patents. She has been invited to give talk in 70 conferences. The cross-scale dual-modal endoscopy was verified in pre-clinical experiments in Grade 3A hospitals. The equipment got the identification of class II innovative medical devices. And high sensitive inspection instruments have been applied to more than 20 production lines of 10 enterprises. She is the associate editor of Science Bulletin, Editoral member of Advanced Photonics, IEEE spectrum, leading guest editor of Optics Communications, editor of Journal of Nanotechnology Nanomedicine Nanobiotechnology, editor of the books Advanced Coating Materials.Yang got the NSFC Distinguished Young Scholar award.Yang’s work was selected into “The Top Ten major developments in optics in China”, awarded the International Advanced Materials Award and the Second Prize of National Award for Technological Invention, Wang Daheng Optical Award etc.

David Cooke, Ph.D. received his doctorate from Duke University, Durham, NC, US. He has worked in the semiconductor industry for over 20 years in a wide variety of capacities including quality assurance manager, technical marketing manager and in sales. Dave’s focus has been on wet chemistries and MOCVD, specifically metal organic precursors. He is currently working for Vital Materials, where he supports customers with their MO needs and works with customers with a collaborative approach to help develop novel precursors for next generation applications. He is passionate about the semiconductor industry and is always looking for opportunities to help customers meet their immediate and long-term needs.

Ketan Pancholi is lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Robert Gordon University. With background in Mechanical Engineering, he has worked in metallurgy and energy industry before joining the university teaching. During his PhD under joint supervision of Prof Edirisinghe and Prof Eleanor Stride at University College London, he started working on microbubble production methodologies using microfluidics. As a part of PhD, he developed two methods of producing microbubble such as T-Junction and T-junction coupled with electrospray. Additionally, he also demonstrated the possibility of using microbubbles in application such as material processing and image contrast agents. Soon after his graduation, he worked at Robert Gordon University and Newcastle University as a lecturer. He has research interest in every aspect of bubbles, multi-layered droplets and foams which finds applications in varied fields such as biomedical, self-assembly based microscale material manipulation and fluid-structure interaction. Dr. Ketan Pancholi is involved in the soft matter research at RGU with the main emphasis on non-equilibrium thermodynamics and statistical mechanics relevant to mixing of the with inorganic nanoparticles. His work in this area spans all topics of polymer nanocomposites including self-assembly, stimuli (magnetic, electric, optical etc.) directed self-assembled microstructure, chain relaxation, and nanoparticle diffusion and dynamics. The work combines theory and experimental aspects to prepare materials for electromagnetic applications such as energy conversion/storage in mind. Furthermore, his work extends into processing of the multiple materials having different physical properties to produce patterned nanocomposite films through directed self-assembly/co-flowing flow for many magneto-optical applications.

Dr. Huabei Jiang started his career as an assistant professor at Clemson University (Clemson, South Carolina, USA)in 1997 and became an associate professor and a professor at Clemson University in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He moved to University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida, USA)in 2005 and became the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Endowed Chair there in 2008. Huabei joined University of South Florida (USF) (Tampa, Florida, USA) in 2017 as a Professor and Director of USF Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging. Huabei has published nearly 500 peer-reviewed scientific articles and patents. He is also the author of four books on diffuse optical, photoacoustic, thermoacoustic and fluorescence molecular imaging, respectively. He has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1998 and has won numerous national and international awards. Huabei is a Fellow of OSA/OPTICA, SPIE and AIMBE. Outsideof his research/teaching, Huabei enjoys practicing Chinese Calligraphy and paintings (ink/color pencil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and oil). He had twoone-person exhibitions of his artworks in July 2019 and August 2023, respectively, in Chengdu, China, and has won multiple awards in several international art competitions since 2021.

Professor Shiro Ryu is a full professor at the Meiji University, Tokyo, Japan. He has been researching coherent optical fiber communication technology for more than forty years, from the early research stage when he was a graduate student directed by Professor Takanori Okoshi, a pioneer of coherent optical systems,at the University of Tokyo. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he worked at KDD R&D Laboratories and succeeded in the first sea trial of coherent optical communication systems in 1988.Based on a strong background in coherent optical fiber communication technology, he published a book entitled “Coherent Lightwave Communication Systems” from Artech House in 1995. He also worked at SoftBank HQs, where he was in charge of designing and deploying long-haul coherent DWDM systems over 100 Gbit/s per wavelength. Since 2016, he has been a Professor at the School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences of Meiji University. His research interests are optical wireless communication technology and optical measurement using coherent heterodyne detection technology.

Xenia Bogomolec is the founder of Quant-X Security & Coding, an IT and information security company with an R&D team. Her personal journey started with mathematics studies and algorithm research. Her industrial experience ranges from algorithm and system development to IT and information security. She dug into quantum technologies in 2016 while assessing algorithm complexity in the scope of post-quantum security. Since then, she has built a team that assesses quantum security proofs for photonic devices and integrates quantum and post-quantum security into classical communication protocols. Anna Backerra graduated in theoretical physics at the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands and worked for three years at Philips Research Laboratories. She continued independently, making a search for complementary physics. To develop a way of complementary thinking she studied composition at the Conservatory in Enschede and in Saint Petersburg (Russia). After that she constructed a complementary mathematical language and applied this to physics, obtaining twin physics. The surprisingly diverse results are published in 13 papers in Physical Essays, Applied Physics Research, Advances in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Int. Shunsuke Kobayashi, born in Saitama, Japan, in 1932, embarked on a distinguished academic and research journey. In 1955, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Tokyo University of Science (TUS), setting the foundation for his scholarly pursuits. From 1955 to 1959, Kobayashi served as an Assistant Professor at TUS, contributing to the academic environment. His dedication to learning led him to pursue graduate studies at The University of Tokyo from 1959 to 1964. During this period, he earned his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering in 1964, showcasing his commitment to advanced research. Following his doctoral achievement, Kobayashi became a staff member at RIKEN in Saitama, Japan, and contributed to the institution's research endeavors from 1964 to 1978. His academic career progressed as he assumed roles at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) from 1978 to 1996, initially as an Associate Professor and later as a Professor. Kouichi Akahane received B.E., M.E., and Ph.D degrees in Material Science from University of Tsukuba in 1997, 1999, and 2002, respectively. He joined the Communications Research Laboratory (known as National Institute of Information and Communications Technology from April 1, 2004,), Koganei, Tokyo in 2002. He is now the Director of Optical Access Technology Laboratory of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology and is currently working on optical access network, photonics devices, and compound semiconductor crystal growth.

Prof. Dieter Schuöcker earned his Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering from TU Vienna in 1965 and his Dr. Techn. in 1968. He became an Associate Professor of Physical Electronics in 1974, focusing on high-power CO2 lasers. In 1980, he joined Voest Alpine Comp. to develop the VALCUT laser cutting and punching machine. He founded the Austrian Laser Association in 1983 and the EuroLaser Academy for post-graduate education. He chaired the International Symposium on Gas Flow and Chemical Lasers in 1986 and 2006. In 1995, he became a Full Professor of Nonconventional Production at TU Vienna. After becoming Professor Emeritus in 2009, he founded the Upper Austria Laser Center and developed new laser manufacturing processes. He chaired the International Symposium on High Power Laser Systems in 2016 and retired in 2018. He continues to work on 3D printing and published a new book in 2023. He has authored six books and numerous papers on lasers and nonconventional processing.

In 1983 he joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation's (NTT's) Communication Switching Laboratories, Tokyo, Japan. His research areas are Network Architecture in Optical Network, Cloud Computing, Smart Network, Communication Protocol, and Optical Switching System including Optical Devices. He was a director of Asia Pacific Board at IEEE Communications Society, and is now president of IEICE. He received best paper award from IEEE Trans on CPMT and IEICE Trans on Com and many best paper award from international conference. He is an IEEE Fellow, an IEICE Fellow, IPSJ senior member and IEEJ member.

Gaetano Assanto, PhD, is a distinguished Professor of Electronic Engineering at the University "Roma Tre" in Italy. He obtained his Master's in Electronic Engineering from the University of Palermo in 1981, followed by a PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering in 1987. Throughout his career, Prof. Assanto has held research positions at renowned institutions like the Center for Electronic Research in Sicily, the Optical Sciences Center at the University of Arizona, and currently heads the Nonlinear Optics and OptoElectronics Lab (NooEL) at the University "Roma Tre." He is a member of prestigious professional societies such as OSA, SPIE, IEEE-LEOS, and has served on the editorial boards of various esteemed journals in the field of optics and photonics. Recognized for his contributions, he's been honored with scholarships including Fulbright and ISEP, and holds notable distinctions as an OSA Fellow and IEEE Fellow. Prof. Assanto has authored and co-authored over 930 publications, demonstrating his significant impact on the field. Professor Tatjana Gric (female), since 2009 has been engaged in the investigation of waveguide devices (wave guide modulators, filters etc.), namely on proposing their electrodynamical analysis of various complex structures (e.g., tissue-like structures). Another major goal of her studies is plasmonics as the examination of the interaction between electromagnetic field and free electrons in a metal. The optically-active nanostructures have been simulated and their fundamental photonic properties have been explored. During past few years she has been working on the investigation of the nanostructured composites and their fascinating properties. She has authored and co-authored over 70 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. She also holds 1LT patent.

Dr. Jun Zhang received hisB.S. degree on Physics, M.S. degree on Optics from Fudan University and Ph.D. degree on Optics from Shanghai Jiaotong University, respectively. From 2002 to 2015, Dr. Zhang had been working in the Beckman Laser Institute at the University of California, Irvine as a postdoctoral researcher, an assistant project scientist and an assistant research professor respectively. In 2015, Dr. Zhang joined the faculty of Sun Yat-sen University-Carnegie Mellon University Joint Institute of Engineering as a tenure-track professor. Dr. Jun Zhang is currently a professor at Guilin University of Electronic Technology. Dr. Zhang’s expertise lies in the research and development of laser scanning imaging, particularly new non-invasive and minimally invasive optical imaging technologies such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fiber optic endoscopy, and LiDAR.Dr. Zhang has published more than 80 peer-reviewed journal papers, 30 conference proceedings, and five book chapters.

Dr. Scott Watson is a Lecturer in the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. He completed his PhD in visible light communication in 2015 before conducting research across a range of topics as a postdoctoral researcher. He has published over 80 journal and conference papers with over 2800 citations and an h-index of 19. His current research focusses on gallium nitride lasers for optical communications and quantum applications.

Prof. Robert Buenker received his B.S. Degree (Maxima Cum Laude) in Mathematics and Chemistry from Loras College in June 1963 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University in June 1966. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska in 1967, advancing to Associate Professor in 1970, and then to Professor in 1973. From 1973 to 1975, he was a Senior U.S. Scientist Award recipient of the Humboldt Foundation, conducting research at the University of Bonn, Germany. He continued his career at the Universität Bonn until April 1977, when he became a Professor of Theoretical Chemistry at Bergische Universität-Gesamthochschule, Wuppertal, Germany, a position he held until July 2007. He then served as an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University and later at the University of Georgia. In June 2016, he delivered invited lectures at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics in Beijing, China.

Prof. Friedrich Grimm was born in Stuttgart in 1954. He studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart and at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1980. After having finished his studies in 1981, he worked as an employed architect and later on temporarily joined the scientific staff of the Institute for Building Construction at the University of Stuttgart. During his practice as a freelanced architect, since 1989 he took part in competitions and completed several multifamily houses in southern Germany. Due to a series of books, which he has written in the field of steel construction, edited by Ernst & Sohn in Berlin (2003), and one the subject of one family homes, edited by Callwey in Munich (2006), he was nominated a professor honorary in 2009 by the faculty one, for architecture and urban design at the university of Stuttgart. In 2016, he founded the RES- Institute as a completely independent think tank in the field of renewable energies. Since then he has worked with passion and endurance on projects matching the RES-Institute obligation to provide blueprints for a friendly climate on Earth. Several patents in the field of concentrated solar thermal systems led him into the field of optics where he invented a wide angel sensor, recording light signals with infinite depth of field in real time. Among his inventions, there is also a new achromatic lens focusing light of different wavelengths, even x-rays. His latest invention relates to a quantum mechanical device that, making use of the electronic spin, is creating a toroidal and a poloidal magnetic field component in an electromagnetically enclosed plasma of a fusion reactor.

Prof. Pei Zhong’s research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University covers engineering and technology development for noninvasive and minimally invasive lithotripsy treatment of kidney stone disease, high-intensity focused ultrasound for cancer therapy, acoustic and optical cavitation, and ultrasound neuromodulation. His most recent research focuses on laser lithotripsy, including the role of photothermal ablation vs. cavitation damage in stone dusting or fragmentation, and assessment of the optimal settings for thulium fiber laser and associated thermal injury risk. Prof. Zhong is a Fellow of ASA and ASME, and the recipient of NIH MERIT Award from 2010 to 2020 for his work in shock wave lithotripsy.

Dubravka Milovanović is a Full Research Professor with extensive expertise in materials synthesis and investigation, laser modification, and project management. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Belgrade in 2003, followed by a Magisterate in Physical Chemistry in 2006, and a Doctorate in Physical Chemistry in 2013 from the same institution. Her professional journey has seen her serving as a Full Research Professor at the Institute of General and Physical Chemistry in Belgrade, Serbia, where she also holds the position of Quality Control Manager in the Laboratory for Testing, Research, and Development. Additionally, she has been a Visiting Scientist/User at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) since 2023, focusing on experiment LHC-CMS. Prior to her current roles, Milovanović worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the Vinča Institute in Belgrade, Serbia, from 2003 to 2019, where she also served as a Quality Manager for ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Her research interests encompass materials science, laser processing of materials, aging phenomena in gaseous detectors, material characterization, and environmental protection. She has been involved in several notable projects, including the establishment of technology for highly efficient laser cleaning of historical and culturally significant documents and books, the development of gaseous detectors technologies, and the synthesis and characterization of catalytic materials for fuel cells application. Milovanović has contributed significantly to scientific literature, with selected publications in prominent journals such as Materials, European Physical Journal Plus, and EPJ Data Science.

Yasutake Ohishi received the B. S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 1978 and 1980, respectively. In 1980, he joined the Electrical Communication Laboratory, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now NTT Co.). In 1988 he was awarded a Ph. D. by Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo. In 2002, he joined Toyota Technological Institute. Now he is Vice President and Professor of Toyota Technological Institute. He has been engaged in research of specialty optical fiber, such as infrared optical fibers, rare earth-doped optical fibers for optical amplifiers and lasers, highly nonlinear microstructured optical fiber, infrared image transmission optical fibers, and their applications. He is a fellow of Optica.

Reza Safian is an enthusiastic and analytical researcher with more than fifteen years of hands-on experience in integrated microwave photonics. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada. He was a faculty member at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty with Isfahan University of Technology in Iran for ten years till 2017, where he was involved in research on terahertz and millimeter wave imaging and photonic integrated circuits. He was a Visiting Researcher with CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics, UCF, in 2017, working on the wideband integrated electrooptic modulators based on thin film lithium niobate. In 2018, he joined the IMEC R&D, nanoelectronics, and digital technologies in Florida, working on high-speed silicon electrooptic modulators. Currently, he is an R&D engineer at Infinera Corp., working on ultra-high-speed modulators based on the InP platform for the next generation of electro-optic transceivers. He is the author of more than 150 papers in journals and conference proceedings and patents in microwave photonics.

Professor Karabchevsky is the Director of the Integrated Photonics Laboratory, which focuses on the interactions of light and matter on optical chips and designing innovative interfaces for developments such as single-photon sources and doctor-in-your-pocket devices on a chip. She has held several academic positions, starting as a Teaching Assistant in 2007-2008 at Achva Academic College. Over the years, she progressed through various roles, including Lab Instructor (2009-2011) and External Lecturer at Ben Gurion University of the Negev (2011-2012), as well as an External Lecturer at ORT Braude College (2009-2011). She served (2012-2015) as a Research Fellow at the Optoelectronics Research Center, University of Southampton, UK. In 2015 Dr Karabchevsky joined Ben-Gurion University as a Lecturer. Subsequently, she served as a tenured Assistant Professor (2018-2021), Associate Professor (2021-2023) and later a Full Professor (2023-present) in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Karabchevsky founded the SPIE students chapter at BGU, the first in the Middle East, in November 2010, a member of IEEE (since 2020) and IPS (since 2019). She is Chair of the Women in Engineering Affinity Group, IEEE Section (since 2020). She has various editorial roles, including Editor for Advanced Photonics Research Journal (Wiley) and Guest Editor for Sensors Journal (since 2020). She has received numerous awards, including 2019 and 2017 recognized as one of the Top 100 Official authors in Physical Sciences of Scientific Reports journal, 2014 'Brilliance in Research' award of Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK, 2012 President’s Award for 'Outstanding Woman in Science,' which included a monetary prize of $45,000, 2011 Best Paper at the SPIE Optics and Photonics Conference in San Diego. Dr Karabchevsky secured approximately $7.5 million USD in funding over the past eight years at BGU. More than 14 patents protect her inventions. She has also been involved in disseminating knowledge by editing an Elsevier book entitled “On-Chip Photonics: Principles, Technology and Applications” (in Press) and contributing to the Elsevier Nanophotonics series. Her research has gained recognition in popular media, with coverage in more than 20 sources, including The Jerusalem Post. In addition to her editorial roles for top journals such as Advanced Photonics Research and Sensors, Dr. Karabchevsky has been instrumental in organizing and chairing significant international conferences, including the International Conference and Exhibition on Optics and Electro-Optics (OASIS) and the 7th Nano Israel Conference (Nano.IL.2020), where she served as the Bio-Nano Medicine Session Chair. She served on numerous international expert panels, including those of the Research Council of Canada, the European Commission, and other national and international organizations.

After graduating from Izmir Bornova Anatolian High School, Sena Kavas commenced her undergraduate education in the photonics department at Izmir Institute of Technology. In her first year of undergraduate studies, she assumed the role of president within the IZTECH Optics and Photonics Society, a position supported by OPTICA. Under her leadership, 15 online conferences and 5 physical conferences were successfully organized. Additionally, Sena Kavas is an active member of OPTICA Society. She is also actively involved in a team endeavoring to establish a startup company focused on producing photonic technologies at İzmir Teknopark. Despite being only in her second year, she has already embarked on her graduation project and initiated research on photonic integrated circuits under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hasan Göktaş at the institute.

Steve Smith received the PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Michigan in 1996. He was a postdoc and member of technical staff at the US Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory from 1996-2005, when he became a faculty member in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (South Dakota Mines). He served as a rotating program officer for the Biomaterials Program in the Division of Materials Research, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Directorate at the National Science Foundation from 2019-2021. He is currently Professor and head of Nanoscience and Biomedical Engineering at South Dakota Mines. His expertise focuses on exploiting light-matter interactions with nanomaterials using optical imaging and spectroscopy methods. Current interests include spectrally-resolved nonlinear optical microscopy with nanoscale spatial resolution, including multiphoton imaging of plasmonic meta-surfaces, low dimensional quantum materials, upconverting nanomaterials, multiphoton microscopy and correlative optical, atomic force and electron microscopy of bio-nanomaterials.

Dr. Mihaela Antonina Calin is currently working as senior researcher 1st degree at the National Institute of Research and Development for Optoelectronics - INOE 2000, Bucharest, Romania. Dr. Mihaela Antonina Calin received her PhD in physics from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics, Romania. Dr. Mihaela Antonina Calin has authored 65+ scientific papers published in journals indexed in the ISI Web of Knowledge, 50+ international conference proceedings papers and presentations, 2 co-authored books, and 1 unique author book with 1296 citations (Web of Science, h-index 14). Her publications reflect her research interests in biomedical imaging, tissue optics, and laser-tissue interaction. Dr. Mihaela Antonina Calin has also participated in 11 national and international projects, is a reviewer for five prestigious journals, and is a member of the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Optics and Photonics. Her research interests include: (i) biomedical optics (optical and thermal properties of living matter, light-matter interactions, optical and hyperspectral imaging); (ii) signal modeling and processing for hyperspectral imaging; (iii) combination of physics-based modeling with statistical tools; and (iv) model recognition and machine learning for biomedical applications.

Meng Khoon Tey is an associate professor at Physics Department of Tsinghua University, China. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008. His doctoral work focused on trapping single atoms and measuring coupling strength of a single atom with focused photons in free space. In 2009, he moved to Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI), Innsbruck, Austria for his postdoctoral work, where he realized the first Sr BEC in 2009 under the supervision of Florian Schreck. In 2012, working together with Rudi Grimm, Meng Khoon observed the second sound in the Fermi degenerate gas at unitary interaction. Since moving to Tsinghua University in 2013, Meng Khoon Tey focuses on realizing precision measurement beyond the standard quantum limit using spinor BEC. Currently, he is also working on developing quantum computer using array of Rydberg atoms.

Ilgim Efeturk is one of the first full students of Turkey's first Department of Photonics, which was founded in 2015 and has served undergraduate education since 2019. She is one of the few founding members of the IZTECH Optics and Photonics Society (IZTECH-OPS). which was established on August 5, 2020, as an OPTICA (formerly OSA) Student Chapter and was the first official photonics student branch established within the institute. In addition to being Representative of IZTECH Department of Photonics and Representative of IZTECH Faculty of Science, she is the first female President of the Student Council in the history of her university, which was founded in 1992 and has 6500+ students. In addition to these, she is the Founder and President of IZTECH Quality Community, which was established in December, 2022, in order to disseminate the quality culture in higher education and R&D fields, internalize quality processes, increase the participation of students in the quality assurance system and to carry out studies in this field. She was awarded as one of the 20 Women Scholars to be supported financially and academically in 2022, selected worldwide by Optica (formerly OSA). She became the first Turkish student to be selected for this scholarship supported by major companies such as Google, Intel and Meta to empower the next generation of women leaders in optics and photonics; which accepts student applications from 36 countries and has a very difficult selection process due to its extraordinary application pool. In addition, she is one of the 53 female students and is the first & only photonics student supported academically under the WE-inTech Program which was officially launched by Arçelik Global in Turkey, Arctic in Romania, Defy Appliances in South Africa and Dawlance in Pakistan, and made available for the first time on a global scale to support women in new-generation research and development fields. Ilgim successfully completed her internship within the scope of the Eastern Anatolia Observatory in Erzurum, which hosts Turkey's largest and first NIR telescope with a diameter of 4 meters and she worked on the AO+RC+aO+DR optical performance of the DAG Telescope, especially on astrooptics which includes the adaptive optics & derotator system. She is currently doing a research internship on space robotics, and also conducts various studies on photonics and leadership within prestigious institutions in Turkey.

Dr. Israel Pereira Assunção teaches at the Department of Sciences and Mathematics at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of São Paulo. His current research interests involve the design, synthesis, and photophysics of lanthanide complexes doped into various polymeric and nanostructured systems for applications in energy-converting materials, cancer diagnosis, and treatment (via the SPR effect), as well as optical thermometry, mainly for biological systems. He joined Prof. Ulrich Kynast's research team at the University of Applied Sciences of Münster (Germany) in 2017 and, since August 2018, has been a member of Prof. Hermi Brito's group at the University of São Paulo.

Dragos Manea has been working as a scientific researcher at the National Institute of Research and Development for Optoelectronics (INOE 2000), Magurele, Romania, since 2016. He is currently a Ph.D. student with interests in software development and artificial intelligence. Dragos Manea completed his Masters in Medical Physics from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics. Areas of activity include: software development for medical applications; modeling and data processing for hyperspectral imaging; the application of statistical elements in combination with physics-based modeling; the application of machine learning methods for biomedical applications; and a good understanding and working experience with different fundamental elements and concepts of medical image processing and analysis using artificial intelligence techniques.

Stanislav Derevyanko is an Associate Professor at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, where he has been since 2015. From 2002 to 2007, he was twice a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Photonics Research Group, Aston University, Birmingham, U.K., and from 2007 to 2012, he was an EPSRC Advanced Fellow with the Nonlinearity and Complexity Research Group, Aston University. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Marie Curie Visiting Fellow with the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He received his B.Sc. and M. Sc. from Kharkiv State University in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the Institute for Radiophysics and Electronics, Kharkiv, Ukraine in 2001.

Luis Alberto Pérez obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the INFIQC-National University of Córdoba, Argentina, in 2015. The thesis is entitled: 'Optics at the nanoscale: Plasmonic Nanostructures Design with application to ultrasensitive spectroscopic detection of molecules.' In 2018, he joined the Institute of Material Sciences in Barcelona. He was honored with a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from 2019 to 2021. His research interests focus on light-matter interaction, nanostructure synthesis, and electrodynamic simulations. He is currently working on colloidal nanoparticle arrays, hot electron generation, and CO2 photoreduction.

During the last decade, Sergey Kobtsev’s research activity centered around mode-locked fiber lasers, and his personal accomplishments in this area have brought new fundamental insights into the generation mechanisms of these lasers and the non-linear transformation of their output. His work also resulted in many times in the achievement of record-breaking output parameters of these lasers. The total record of S. Kobtsev's service exceeds 35 years. S. Kobtsev is distinguished with two academic degrees in physics and mathematics (Ph. D. and Doctor of Science) and the academic rank of docent. He has supervised the preparation and defense of 5 Ph. D. theses. In 2015, S. M. Kobtsev was honored with the OSA’s Outstanding Reviewer Recognition.

Ephraim Mathew is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Physical Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. His research focuses on investigating the optical properties of long-range ordered nanostructures with applications in lasing and sensing. His academic journey is complemented by significant contributions, including a recent publication in 'Applied Surface Science' on polarized-SERS of non-isotropic molecules using corrugated plasmonic surfaces. Ephraim has actively engaged in international conferences, delivering presentations such as at Nanotech Poland and CMD Milan, where he explored topics ranging from anisotropic surface-enhanced Raman scattering to the effects of corrugated substrates on SERS anisotropy. His research efforts are supported by grants from institutions like Adam Mickiewicz University and the National Science Centre, Poland, underscoring his role as a manager and contractor in various funded projects. Ephraim's dedication to advancing knowledge in nanostructure optics is further evidenced by accolades such as the Best Poster Award at Nanotech Poland 2024, highlighting his expertise in the field.
