Tchertanov has multidisciplinary skills, with extensive experience in structural biology, molecular modelling and numerical simulation of molecular dynamics. She is author or coauthor of more than 170 papers in peer-reviewed journals (https://scholar.google.fr/citations?user=pHDWHvcAAAAJ&hl=fr), speaker of numerous communications and invited seminaries, organiser of Molecular Modelling workshops Shrödinger-ENS Cachan (France) and international CECAM meeting. More than 25 of her graduate students and postdoctoral fellows have secured tenured or tenure-track faculty or lab positions. She has coordinated or contributed to various research projects (public and industrial). Research topics focus on exploring protein structure–dynamics–function relations. In particular, L. Tchertanov works on proteins activation mechanisms, inhibitors resistance mechanisms, conformational dynamics and plasticity, and molecular recognition of the crucial therapeutic targets (receptors tyrosine kinases and their signalling proteins, Vitamin K Epoxide Reductase and its redox protein, NMDA Receptor, ect.) focusing on the search for new therapeutic targets. She is specifically interested in the description of allosteric regulation and intrinsic disorder at the atomistic level. A significant part of research is devoted to the development of new methodology and computational tools for the description of proteins dynamics.
