About Conference

After careful consideration, the organizers have decided to postpone the 3DPAM2023 Conference for 2023 to 2024 (3DPAM2024). We are deeply appreciative of the understanding and support of our members and non-members alike for this decision. Postponing the conference to next year gives us the opportunity to plan and prepare more effectively. We are truly grateful for the time and understanding that you have so generously given us. The 2nd International Conference and Expo on 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing (3DPAM2024), to be held on March 21-23, 2024 in Florence, Italy.

The conference, organized by PAGES conferences, will provide a forum for researchers working on all aspects of additive manufacturing. A wonderful opportunity will be presented at the conference to introduce new participants to this field as well as to spotlight innovative tools and approaches.

Currently, 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing is at the forefront of most technological developments and plays an imperative role in a wide range of industries. Leaders in 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing will share the latest developments and emerging challenges in these fields. As part of the three-day conference, participants will have a variety of networking opportunities and opportunities to participate in plenary talks, keynotes, interactive sessions, academic discussions, oral and poster presentations, technical workshops, and social events.

Prof. Mauro Comes Franchini is Full Professor of â€œMaterial Organic Chemistryâ€, Department of Industrial Chemistry â€œToso Montanariâ€, University of Bologna, Italy. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND 1993: Degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna. From 1993-1996: Ph.D in Chemical Science in the Department of Organic Chemistry "A. Mangini" of the University of Bologna. ACCADEMIC CARRIER from 1997- CNR fellowship, 1998- Researcher at the Department of Organic Chemistry â€œA. Manginiâ€, Faculty of Industrial Chemistry, Bologna. 2014-Associate Professor. Department of industrial chemistry Toso Montanari, University of Bologna. His INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE Part of the degree work (three months) has been performed in the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands). During his Ph.D he spent a six months period in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory, of the Oxford University, (United Kingdom). AWARD 2017: Prize to the scientific research in â€œOrganic Chemistry for Nanoscienceâ€ by the SocietÃ Chimica Italiana. RESEARCH INTERESTS Nanoscience and Nanomedicine Research is in the field of the organic chemistry for nanoscience and nanomedicine. The argument of this research is the functionalization with complex organic molecules of the surface of nanoparticles: in particular magnetic nanoparticles, silver, doped- metal oxides, magnesium and gold nanoparticles (spherical and cylindrical). The entrapment of organic molecules as commercial- or synthetized-drugs (derived from the mentioned 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition) together with the metallic nanostructures of interest into biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles is also a topic of this research. The further bioconjugation of these polymeric nanoparticles with bio-functional molecules (proteins, peptides, monoclonal antibodies and aptamers) gives nanocarriers for biomedical applications against cancer and neurological disorders. Main applications are imaging, drug delivery, phototermal ablation and therefore a Theranostic approach is the main goal. Additive Manufacturing 3D-printing The activity is focused on the optimization of innovative processing techniques with the aim of developing new organic materials for applications in the field of organic electronics, nanomedicine for industrial applications. Processing techniques include: â€¢ Additive Manufacturing (3D-Printing) in order to obtain new materials starting from natural pool sources, such as carbohydrates and proteins. The starting biomaterials are synthetically modified before being applied to the manufacturing. Applications are textile and organic electronics â€¢ Bio-Ink for biomedical applications via gel-extrusion deposition. Here too, biocompatible materials are investigated: the formulations are thoroughly explored and optimized in order to obtain suitable rheology for building scaffolds eligible for Tissue Engineering.

Prof. Dr. R.M. Chandima Ratnayake is a Professor (in Mechanical Engineering) (100%) in the Department of Mechanical & Structural Engineering and Materials Science (IMBM), University of Stavanger (UiS) â€“ Norway. He has a B.Sc. degree in Production Engineering, an M.Sc. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, and PhD degree in Offshore Engineering. Professor Ratnayake also worked as a Specialist Engineer â€“ Akersolutions (until September 2020), Norway; â€˜Senior Technical Integrity Management Advisor, Wood Group Integrity Management, Wood Group Kenny Norway AS (2014-2019) and a â€˜Maintenance Engineering Specialistâ€™ (20%) in ApplySÃ¸rco, AS (2012.11-2014.02), Norway and as a â€˜Senior Engineerâ€™ in AkerSolutions Offshore Partner (2009-2011), Stavanger, Norway. He also served in the capacities of Associate Professor, visiting Associate Professor and Assistant Professor from August 2007 to July 2010 at the University of Stavanger, Norway and as a lecturer at a number of universities & educational institutions in Sri Lanka. Presently he lectures Manufacturing & Production Engineering and Product Development at B.Sc. level, Welding and In-service Inspection Technologies for mechanical and structural engineering M.Sc. level. He also offers two PhD courses (â€˜Advanced Mechanical Design and Simulationâ€™ and â€˜PhD project topic in mechanical engineering and material technologyâ€™). He also delivers courses for practicing engineers in the Oil and gas industry and the manufacturing sector at the national and international levels. He has been invited to numerous international level conferences as a speaker within the contexts of Asset integrity assessment and control, Health, Safety & Environmental issues, Sustainability, Maintenance, Criticality Analysis, Risk-based inspection and Reliability centered maintenance, Offshore Data Management, Human factors, etc. Currently, he participates in and manages several European Commission (EC) [Erasmus, Green Deal] and Norwegian [NORAD, Plogen, VRI] grant projects focusing on implementation of lean concepts and effective implementation of enterprise resource planning systems in the Norwegian industry. Professor Ratnayake supervises B.Sc. & M.Sc. thesis and 11 PhD research projects. He has made more than 200 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is an associate editor of the ASME Open Journal of engineering, Central European Journal of Engineering (Industrial Engineering/Offshore Engineering) & SCIENCEDOMAIN International and a member of the editorial board of International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering, Regional Editor of Europe: International Journal of Adaptive and Innovative Systems. He has also served as an ad hoc reviewer and a member of the technical committee for several international conferences and journals.
